ST. PAUL, Minn. – A child was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning in Goodhue County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 39-year-old Christo J. Oosthuizen of Zumbrota was driving a semi north on the Highway 52 ramp to Highway 60.  31-year-old Darin P. Olson of Zumbrota was driving a car east on the Highway 60 bridge over Highway 52.  The vehicles collided in the intersection around 7:54 am.

Authorities say the only person hurt in the broadside crash was a passenger in Olson’s vehicle.  8-year-old Trace D. Olson suffered what is described as a serious injury.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Zumbrota police, fire and ambulance, Mayo One and the Minnesota Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene.
