CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Residents will now be able to bring their new and used items to the Landfill of North Iowa thanks to a new partnership with a local organization.
The Landfill of North Iowa has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Restore to help promote recycling and keep materials like household goods and building materials from the landfill.
A warehouse is located near the landfill for customers to drop off items such as furniture, sinks and toilets.
“There’s always good used material that does get brought to the landfill and a lot of that we’re hoping can be diverted not only to help the landfill by getting items out of that landfill, but also bring extra donations into the Restore,” says store manager Brian Lewerke.
The new donation drop-off warehouse will be open during regular business hours.
