MASON CITY, Iowa – The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing representatives from local businesses into Clear Lake High School classrooms to show students what jobs are available in the community as part of their new sponsorship program.
Chamber of Commerce President Laurie Lietz said the program is intended to educate students about the variety of opportunities nearby and the workforce need in North Iowa.
“All over North Iowa there’s great opportunities. Everywhere from the professional services from attorneys, dentists, doctors — there’s a need for that. But there’s a need for the labor, the traders, the carpenter, the construction workers, all the way on up to entrepreneurs that want to be their own boss,” said Lietz. “There’s a lot of stories that can be told by the businesses to the students.”
Lietz said organizers are hoping interested businesses will contact the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce by Friday.
