ROCHESTER, Minn. – A southeastern Minnesota is going to state prison.
29-year-old Lucas James Ernst of Preston was sentenced Thursday to a total of 26 months behind bars, with credit for 146 days already served. Authorities say Ernst drove across the center line and caused a two-vehicle crash in Rochester on April 15. Evidence of narcotics use was then found in Ernst’s vehicle.
He entered guilty pleas on June 16 to 5th degree drug possession and criminal vehicular operation, both felonies. Ernst received 21 months on the first charge and 26 on the second, sentences to be served concurrently.
