ROCHESTER, Minn. – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and next weekend, we hope you can join KIMT News 3 in a walk for the American Cancer Society.
Saturday, October 22nd, we will be sponsoring the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Soldier’s Field Park in Rochester.
Money raised at the event will fund breast cancer research and programming through the American Cancer Society. However, besides raising money and awareness, the walk is really about celebrating survivors.
“We recognize all of our cancer survivors which is one of our favorite parts of the event,” says Samantha Rother with the American Cancer Society. “So if there are breast cancer survivors in the community, whether you’re on a team or a registered walker we hope you’ll come out that morning to get recognized with a tee-shirt and to celebrate with your fellow survivors.”
It’s not too late to register, you can do so online or the morning of the event beginning at 7:30 a.m. The walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
