CHARLES CITY, Iowa – Floyd County voters will have the chance to hear from the candidates vying to represent them at a forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Hosted by Charles City’s chapter of American Association of University Women and the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce, the forum will feature candidates running for sheriff, county supervisor, state representative and state senator.
All candidates running in contested races have been invited to participate in the forum. It will not be a debate but is designed to feature comments and questions from the audience.
The following candidates have agreed to take part in the forum:
Sheriff candidates: Jeffrey Crooks and William Vetter
Supervisor candidates: Roy Schwickerath and Linda Tjaden
State representative candidates: Todd Prichard and Stacie Stokes
State senator candidates: Mary Jo Wilhelm and Waylon Brown
The public is encouraged to submit written questions ahead of time to the Chamber Office, 401 N. Main St., email email@example.com, or else at the forum the night of the event. Submitted written questions only will be considered by the selection committee, with no live questioning from the audience during the event. This is to ensure appropriateness and eliminate duplication of questions, according to a Chamber news release.
The forum is free and open to all. Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 601 Milwaukee St. in Charles City.
