GREENE, Iowa – Emergency Management from Butler County says Greene was one of the hardest hit areas by the flooding last month. But city officials say residents are getting concerned with the waiting process.
Some residents in Greene are still in recovery mode after being hit with severe flooding last month.
Over 150 students and thousands of volunteers have assisted with the cleanup efforts, but there’s still more work left to do.
Jayne Napp, the City Clerk of Greene says now residents are left waiting to learn if they will receive help from the federal level
“People are really antsy and nervous and they’re confused, they don’t know what they should do or shouldn’t do and it’s hard for them to wait and now that winter is coming they want to get some of this taken care of.”
Greene has not been declared a federal disaster yet, but hope to hear something in the next few weeks.
