ST. PAUL, Minn. – A Dodge County semi driver was involved in a four-vehicle accident Monday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened around 8:26 am on Highway 14 in Blue Earth County. 22-year-old Damian H. Johnson of Hayfield was driving a semi west near the construction zone by Eagle Lake. Johnson could not slow for other traffic that was merging into a single lane.
Johnson’s semi ran into a car driven by 35-year-old Jenine V. Peterson of Janesville, pushing it into the median. Johnson than hit an SUV driven by 62-year-old Jill S. Peterson of Cleveland, MN, causing the SUV to hit the rear of a truck driven by 33-year-old Fredrick Zaybay of Fridley.
Johnson’s semi then continued through the median, across both eastbound lanes of Highway 14 and wound up in the east ditch.
Jenine Peterson and Jill Peterson both suffered what are described as non-life threatening injuries. Zaybay was apparently unharmed. Johnson’s physical condition was not documents by the State Patrol.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Lake police and fire, the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Gold Cross Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
