ROCHESTER, Minn. – The fourth person caught in a day of drug busts gets probation.
51-year-old Dwayne Smith of Rochester was arrested on July 14, 2015, and charged with seven felony drug crimes. He eventually entered a guilty plea to one count of no drug tax stamp and was sentenced Monday in Olmsted County District Court to seven years of supervised probation and must do 100 hours of community service or pay a $1,000 fine.
Arrested the same day as Smith was Darnell McDaniels, Anthony and Jemicia Mitchell and Briante Banks.
McDaniels pled guilty to 3rd degree sale of drugs and received 49 months in prison. Anthony Mitchell got 67 months behind bars for 2nd degree controlled substance crime and Jemicia Mitchell was sentenced to 20 years of probation for 3rd degree sale of drugs.
Banks, who has repeatedly missed court hearings and been re-arrested on warrants, has not yet entered a plea to charges of 1st degree burglary and fleeing a peace officer.
