ST. PAUL, Minn. – A chain reaction auto accident in Olmsted County Monday afternoon injured two people.

The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened around 4:12 pm on Highway 52, north of Chatfield.  64-year-old Kenneth W. Bothun of Chatfield was driving north and stopped to make a left turn.  His car was struck from behind by the northbound SUV driven by 46-year-old Erik K. Barker of Rochester.  Bothun’s car was pushed into the eastbound lanes, where it was hit again by the SUV driven by 59-year-old Steve B. Vrieze of Lanesboro.

Bothun and Vrieze suffered what are described as non-life threatening injuries.  Barker was apparently unharmed.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office as well as Chatfield police, fire and ambulance assisted at the scene.
