ROCHESTER, Minn. – Sometimes they are referred to as a girl’s best friend, but this week they carry even more meaning.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, rare pink diamonds are at Lasker Jewelers in downtown Rochester. These diamonds are made by New York jewelry designer Charles Krypell, who is also in town for the event.
The general manager of Lasker tells us this is the greatest collection she’s seen in her 30 years and adds that their profits are also going to a good cause.
“The proceeds we make this week from any of his pink jewelry or any pink jewelry in general, we will be donating to the Mayo Breast Cancer Registry,” said General Manager Liz Sparacino.
Those with Mayo Clinic say one third of all new cancer diagnoses each year for women is breast cancer, which kills about 40,000 people annually.
