MASON CITY, Iowa – U.S. Congressman Steve King is meeting with local youth on Wednesday to talk about being a leader.
Students in Youth Investing Energy in Leadership Development asked King questions about his job. He talked about being in Congress since 2002. King also said he hopes they watch this year’s last presidential debate, asking them to listen for the issues.
“You’re going to hear some name-calling and you’re going to hear some allegations. I wish that wasn’t ever part of politics. It’s become more a part of politics in these later years. Through that, tune your ear to the issues that matter and think about the kind of America we will have under a Hillary as president or under a Donald Trump as president,” King said.
King says both candidates are ones students can look up to. He reminds them they are two who surfaced to the top out of millions of people.
