MASON CITY, Iowa – It’s a chance for parents to learn about what their children are doing each day at school.
On Thursday, Lincoln Intermediate in Mason City is putting on an adult makerspace night. Makerspace is the area in the library devoted to “STEAM,” which is science, technology, engineering, math and arts.
There will also be speakers talking about mental health in adolescents and giving advice for parents of student athletes.
“Makerspace is something new to Mason City,” Lincoln Elementary Associate Principal Blake Henely said. “Parents may not know what it is exactly, so we’re giving them a chance to come in and see what their kids have experienced for the past two months and see how it benefits and supports their students’ education.”
There will be different stations set up around the room to show parents the different types of activities kids can do.
