ROCHESTER, Minn. – A woman arrested for hitting a child is pleading guilty.
56-year-old Ya-Juan Yu of Rochester entered a guilty plea Thursday to contributing to the need for child protection services. Charges of 3rd degree assault and two counts of malicious punishment of a child were dismissed.
Rochester police received several calls on August 30 about a woman striking a 1-year-old child in a stroller while walking near Annenberg Plaza. The child was eventually taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for a possible head injury.
Yu has been sentenced to one year of probation.
