ST. PAUL, Minn. – A Rochester woman was killed in a four-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened around 10:24 am at the intersection of Highway 56 and County Road 88, just east of Randolph in Dakota County.  55-year-old Lori J. Hoefs of Oronoco was driving west on County Road 88 and 81-year-old Glen W. Travis of Dodge Center was driving north on Highway 56.  Hoefs apparently failed to stop for a stop sign and broadsided Travis.

That pushed Travis’ vehicle into the southbound lane of Highway 56, where it collided with an SUV driven by 36-year-old Erica Myking of Burnsville.  Debris from the crash site also damaged another vehicle.

Neither Hoefs nor Myking was hurt in collision.  Travis suffered what is described as a serious injury and a passenger in his vehicle, 78-year-old Brenda K. Travis of Rochester, was killed.  A passenger in Myking’s vehicle, 36-year-old Renee C. Piersas of Bloomington, suffered a non-life threatening injury.

The Cannon Falls Police Department and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
