BRITT, Iowa – It’s a conversation on community and the people in charge of this project realize some of the best ideas come from outside.
United Way of North Central Iowa is talking to community members on what they like and dislike about their community and how they can make it great.
United Way serves an eight county region and has assisted communities such a Forest City, Lake Mills and Garner.
Katie Terhark, resident of Britt says she is thankful that United Way is asking community members for their feedback.
“I think we have a lot a great things going on both in Hancock County with access to a really great hospital, you know we have some issues in housing having people move into the county we want to make sure that we have a good school system and housing opportunities available for work,” says Terhark.
United Way plans to meet with surrounding communities once a month to discuss concerns and provide them with resources.
