Motel shut down, residents seek new place to stay

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A local motel is shut down, but we are learning some people continue to stay there.

Olmsted County Public Health deemed Homestead Motel in Rochester to be unsafe and dangerous because of conditions that included filth and feces. Most of the people staying at the motel were able to find other places to stay but five rooms remain occupied. We are told the county is working with several agencies and trying to get these people to have a place to stay by the end of the month.
