MASON CITY, Iowa – Two people allegedly caught with over 5 grams of illegal drugs are pleading not guilty.
26-year-old Bethany Raina Marie Karnes of Indianola is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and unlawful possession of prescription medication.
24-year-old Jacob Dean Ganseveld of Klemme is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
They were arrested in Mason City on October 10 after a traffic stop at the intersection of 14th Street SE and South Delaware Avenue. A sheriff’s deputy says their vehicle held over five kilograms of a substance containing meth, as well as needles, plastic baggies and a drug scale.
Karnes and Ganseveld are scheduled to stand trial on December 13.
