CERRO GORDO CO., Iowa – Three people suffered minor injuries after a one-vehicle accident on 275th St. and Fir Avenue early Sunday morning.
Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash around 1:15 a.m. just north of the intersection to find a passenger car on its side in the creek. They spoke with the owner, 20-year-old Nicole Kathleen Thoe, of Ventura. She was the only remaining occupant and deputies later learned the other two left the scene before their arrival.
After an investigation, 26-year-old Allison Jo McGee, of Mason City, was found to have been driving and lost control. Brooke Nikole Starbuck, 19, of Mason City, was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Thoe broke her wrist during the crash and the other two also suffered what are described as minor injuries, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
McGee was charged with driving under suspension and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
