OSAGE, Iowa – The committee City of Maples Trail in Osage will soon be part of an arboretum project. The city, organization and Osage Municipal Utilities are partnering with the non-profit Trees Forever, over the next five years to get the project underway.
The goal is to create more tree diversity in the community, outside of maple trees.
“We want it (Osage) to be a great place to live and the City of Maples Trail has done a wonderful thing within our community for that,” Osage Trees Forever Committee Member Laura Kuennen said. “And being able to work with Trees Forever and the City of Maples Trail committee to bring something as special as a tree arboretum project I think is really important.”
The Maples Trail runs near the Cedar River Complex, city park and fairgrounds.
