OSAGE, Iowa – Non-profits in Mitchell County are benefiting from large grants from an area organization.
The Foundation for Enhancement of Mitchell County granted over $95,000 to multiple non-profits in the area recently. The group was formed 11 years ago, and the money comes from the state.
All projects must be new ideas for enhancing the county. Some of the projects this year include new playground equipment and solar lights along paths.
“They are supporting our whole population,” Brenda Dryer of the Mitchell County Economic Development office said. “We have non-profits that support our littlest children, our youngest children clear up to our senior populations.”
