ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rochester police are investigating after a teen reported being pepper-sprayed and robbed on Wednesday.
It happened between 7:45 and 8:15 p.m. The 16-year-old Rochester boy told his parents who then told police that he had been hunting in rural Plainview and then stopped at Tinn’s in the 3400 block of 55th St. NW to get a sandwich.
He parked next to a vehicle he thought was occupied and he thought he saw a black man in his early 20s exit the vehicle before the teen was immediately pepper-sprayed. After that, he says four to six black men went through his pockets, taking a small amount of cash and a cellphone.
The investigation is ongoing.
