CHARLES CITY, Iowa – A minor theft could lead to more serious charges in Floyd County.
33-year-old Isaia Weber of Charles City is currently accused of 5th degree theft and 5th degree criminal mischief. He allegedly entered the lobby of the Charles City city hall a little after midnight on October 20 and stole a police badge that was affixed to a memorial plaque on the wall.
At around noon on Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at Weber’s home on 10th Avenue. Firearms, drugs and related drug items were seized. A few hours later, another home on 1st Avenue in Charles City was searched and a police badge was recovered, along with several drug related items.
The Charles City Police Department says additional charges are possible against Weber and other individuals.
