CHARLES CITY, Iowa – The Bridge Church is hosting a Trunk or Treat event on Monday for Halloween.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Senior Pastor Robert Williams said rather than having kids walk down dark streets, the event will be a safe place where kids and families can have fun and eat candy. He said there will be around 30 decorated vehicles with trucks popped open where families can grab a piece of candy and hang out.
“Our church is really passionate about connecting with the community, so we can help connect people with God. The best way we feel we can do that is inviting the community to be a part of what we’re doing,” said Williams. “But at the same time joining the community.
Williams said thousands of pieces of candy have been donated for the event. He said there will also be snacks and activities people can enjoy. “We’re going to have some bounce houses, we’re doing a raffle drawing, we’re going to be giving out prizes and toys,” said Williams. “It’s going to be a huge event, we’re going to have hot cocoa for the parents, all kinds of cool stuff.”
