CRESCO, Iowa – This week’s 2016 election coverage has us focusing on the Howard County Sheriff’s Race.
Howard County Sheriff Morris Miner is facing Cresco police Sergeant Troy Brandau.
We asked them what makes them a perfect candidate for sheriff, how they plan to keep law enforcement looking positive, and what needs to change in the county if elected sheriff.
“Would like to continue the strong law enforcement we have, also wanted to expand some programs that we have. We offer D.A.R.E program we started a number of years ago. I’d like to see it improve to more grades, then just the one we’re working on,” Miner said.
“We do have a jail issue in Howard County. Whether it is deficiencies in our current jail or whether to build a new one, I feel our tax dollars are not being utilized to the best of our abilities to address this issue,” says Brandau.
