ROCHESTER, Minn. – No injuries have been reported after an early morning house fire.
Firefighters arrived at 625 12th Ave. SE just after 6 a.m. Monday. According to a Rochester Fire Department news release, the second floor was “heavily involved” in fire. Occupants said the three adults living there at the time had all gotten out.
Crews extinguished the fire, ventilated the house and turned off gas and electric to the home. They also moved the freezer to the garage to make sure food wouldn’t be spoiled. As of 8 a.m., they are still on scene.
Damage is estimated at $5,000. There is heavy smoke and fire damage to the second floor and investigators say the fire originated there. The cause is still under investigation.
