MASON CITY, Iowa – If you’ve still got a stomachache from all the Halloween candy you ate, some local businesses are offering to take what’s left over for a good cause. The Dental Center of North Iowa is collecting candy to donate to Operation Gratitude. That organization then sends it to first-responders and troops overseas.
“Sometimes you don’t always stop and think about the several men and women serving overseas as well as here locally in the U.S.,” Dental Center office manager Emily Adams said. “So what better way to teach your children to say thank you than to donate your excess Halloween candy.”
You can donate at the Dental Center of North Iowa’s locations in Britt, Belmond and Mason City or at Lucy and Olive in Mason City until Nov. 11.
