ROCHESTER, Minn. – Police arrested a Rochester man on Monday night after he reportedly threatened them and head-butted one officer.
Around 8:30 p.m., a 23-year-old woman reported that her ex, who she has a no contact order against, was in her house and wouldn’t leave.
Luis Ovalle, 20, eventually left and officers weren’t initially able to find him. He came back two hours later, though, and police were giving him commands at gunpoint when he put his hand down his front waistband and started walking toward them saying, “Do something.”
A officer told Ovalle they were going to tase him, at which point police say he grabbed his cellphone and threw it on the ground before he was arrested. They suspect he was holding the phone in his waistband.
While police were arresting him, Ovalle reportedly head-butted an officer, who suffered a fat lip.
Ovalle faces charges of first-degree burglary, assault on a peace officer as well as the no contact order violation.
