ROCHESTER, Minn. – You might only think it’s an issue for humans but pets are starting to suffer from diabetes.
November is national pet diabetes awareness month. Much like humans, dogs and cats can have their insulin production impacted and will need to be on insulin shots. Doctors tell us this usually happens in the middle of their lives and for dogs might come as a sign of drinking more water or for cats giving out more urine. Officials say these pets usually have full lives even with diabetes.
