MASON CITY, Iowa – U.S. Representative Dave Loebsack was in North Iowa campaigning for the Democratic ticket this week.
With only five days to go until the vote, he was gathering support for candidates like Mary Jo Wilhelm and Tim Hejhal. He says although he’s helping others, he’s focused on his own campaign as well.
He believes one of the biggest issues Iowans are concerned about the economy.
“We’ve had a recovery but it hasn’t been as strong as it should’ve been,” Loebsack said. “We need to get more folks into these manufacturing and other kinds of jobs that are actually out there and we’ve got to get them trained, we’ve got to get the workforce development right.”
Loebsack is being challenged by Republican Chris Peters for Iowa’s Second Congressional District.
