UPDATE: CenturyLink says a fiber cable has been fixed and service is restored.
CHESTER, Iowa – CenturyLink says 911 service in out in the Howard County community of Chester.
The company says an “unrelated party” cut their fiber and it’s affecting telephone and internet connections to the town as well. CenturyLink says they hope to have all services restored sometime Friday evening.
In case of an emergency, Chester residents are urged to contact local police and fire departments directly.
“CenturyLink’s priority is customer service and customer safety and restoring communications,” Nic Breidel, Market Development Manager said. “We appreciate our customers’ patience while we work to resolve this issue.”
