CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – Taking orders and serving food may not be part of their day job but tomorrow some Iowa State Patrol troopers will be putting on aprons for a good cause.
Troopers will be at the 7 Stars Family Restaurant serving up coffee and water and talking to members of the community who come in. Money spent on food will benefit the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank, with 100 percent of the sales and 50 percent of the tips going to the organization.
Troopers say this time of year, that money goes a long way.
“A lot of people can’t afford for their meals they’re trying to buy presents or something like that,” Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Dana Knutson. “So it gives us just another opportunity to reach out to the public and help out where we can.”
If you want to support the cause, stop by anytime between 7 and 11 Saturday morning.
