Auto accident in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, Iowa – One person was arrested after a two-vehicle collision in Cerro Gordo County Friday night.

The Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Alexis Elizabeth Ballantyne of Plymouth rear ended a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Richard Glenn Peshak of Plymouth, which was stopped at the intersection of Main Street and Broad Street in Plymouth.

The accident happened around 8:15 pm and the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Ballantyne has been charged with 2nd offense OWI, open container and failure to stop is a safe distance.
