CHARLES CITY, Iowa – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after being struck by a pickup truck.
The Charles City Police Department says 16-year-old Caleb Hejna of Floyd was driving into a parking lot in the 300 block of Salsbury Avenue when he was blinded by the sun and hit someone who was crossing in front of him. This happened around 7:32 am.
The unidentified pedestrian was transported to the Floyd County Medical Center by AMR Ambulance Service.
Police say there was no damage to Hejna’s truck.
