GARNER, Iowa- 5 Loaves 2 Fish is a nonprofit that started in May of this year as a way to make sure kids have enough food during the summer months. Since then, those who host iT say they have learned more needs to be done and started a coat drive.

“It’s very simple to just look around and see the need,” says Stephanie Lloyd, the president and founder of the nonprofit. “There are a number of kids walking around without jackets and we are a walking community, so those are needed.”

Lloyd says when they started this “coat give away” they received 400 winter jackets as well as various boots and gloves. She says they will have one more give away day on November 21st from 9-11 and from 4-6. The winter wear will then be donated to Opportunity Village and Engage in Clear Lake.
