DES MOINES, Iowa – Attorney General Tom Miller is announcing a series of consumer protection efforts to help Iowa veterans and active military members.

The state’s Consumer Protection Division has brought in a veteran volunteer to assist with complaints.  Forms now include a check box for complainants to identify themselves as veterans or active duty service members.  A new web page has also been created specifically for those who are or have served in the military.

“Veterans Day reminds us of the profound sacrifices that men and women have made to protect us all, for which we are thankful,” says Miller.  “We want Iowans who are current or former service members to be aware of people trying to take advantage of their service and know that we’ll do what we can to stop those who try to prey on them.”
