MASON CITY, Iowa – Adam Sandoval and his dog Scooter make up the team known as “ScootinAmerica”, riding across the country raising money for the military. Friday they made a stop at the Harley Davidson shop in Mason City on their way to Wisconsin.
Over a 2 year span Sandoval rode his bike to every Harley Davidson shop in the country, raising over $300,000 for veterans and military personnel in the process. He says he regrets not entering the military when he was younger, and this is his way of giving back.
“I’ve met some amazing American heroes and to have guys like that shake my hand and tell me they respect what I’m doing is probably the most gratifying thing in my whole life,” Sandoval said.
Sandoval and Scooter are heading to the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee for a Veterans Day ceremony.
