OSAGE, Iowa – Local churches and community members came together in an effort to help those in need by providing them with meals.

Members of Living Waters Conference partnered with Feed My Starving Children and have been preparing life-saving meals for the last three days.

Nearly 200 volunteers gathered at the Cedar River Events Center to package meals in efforts to help end hunger.

Julie Kretzschmar, the event coordinator says she is over joyed with the community in how they have assisted them.

“It’s really brought a lot of different groups from the community together. We’ve had churches from each groups, we’ve had a number of schools involved with the Osage high school and middle school who have been very key in making sure that we have enough volunteers.”

The volunteers hope to reach their goal of packaging 175,000 meals.
