FOREST CITY, Iowa – Iowa Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds was in north Iowa Monday, stopping at Forest Plaza Assisted Living. There Reynolds spoke to residents before touring the facility. She answered questions about what is being done at schools across the state to further education and addressed the closing of two state-run mental health facilities by Gov. Branstad.
She also addressed what the next legislative session will hold now that both the Iowa House and Senate are controlled by Republicans.
“Continue to grow the economy to look to make sure that Iowans have opportunities for great careers,” Reynolds said. “As we travel to all 99 counties there’s jobs open right now, we just can’t find workers who have the skills so Future Ready Iowa is an initiative that we can help them get the skills to be successful.”
She said they will also be looking at water quality and making Iowa the healthiest state in the country.
