ROCHESTER, Minn. – Residents in southern Minnesota have some more options when it comes to getting to work.
Early Monday morning, four new bus routes started their journeys for Rochester Public Transit. The locations that include park-and-rides at the fairgrounds and Shopko North are expected to be busy.
Rochester city officials tell us it’s all about getting people downtown.
“We’ve heard from citizens about their need to expand our hours of service and the representatives who want us to expand our hours, these routes in particular we think will help folks who need to get downtown for work prior to 6 a.m.,” said Nick Lemmer, Rochester Public Transit.
He says yearly, they do more than a million rides and currently have about 40 routes.
