AUSTIN, Minn.- Riverland Community College participated in their an Agricultural Summit today.
The 3rd annual event is hosted by Riverland and was at Hormel Institute.
This year’s topic is, “Leveraging Agricultural Innovation for Global Good.”
Presenters are coming from all over the world to teach people the issues that are impacting AG in our area.
This event also helps students get a better understanding of those who work in combines.
“We are hoping to bridge any kinds of gaps between an active user in a combine and what’s being done on campus,” said Uchenna Chukwu, Director for the Center of Agriculture and Food Science Technology programs at Riverland Community College. “Through the establishment AG Simulation Lab we are looking at investing in a simulator that will teach students how to safely operate.”
Enrollment for the AG program at Riverland has nearly doubled this year from last year.
