MASON CITY, Iowa – Students from Mason City are hoping to warm the hearts of children in the community this holiday season. The group YIELD is making 120 buddy blankets to donate to Francis Lauer, the foster system and Four Oaks in Mason City.
Wednesday they started the process of making the tie blankets. One of the students hopes it will put smiles on the kids’ faces.
“I think it’s a good project because it’s going to let the kids know especially around Christmas time that people in the community are there and they’re caring about them and there’s people looking out for them,” Kaylee Millard-Maulsby with YIELD said.
They’re still looking for donations of money or cloth, which you can drop off at the Mason City Chamber of Commerce.
