ROCHESTER, Minn. – It might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to Rochester but the city is hosting a big convention this weekend.
The 26th Annual Lawful Gambling Convention and Expo is taking place at the Mayo Civic Center through Saturday. Around 1,000 charitable gambling delegates from across Minnesota are expected to attend and there will be more than 40 different seminars and workshops. Games like bingo and pull-tabs raise millions of dollars each year to communities across the state. Officials with the charitable gambling add however they are worried about people playing on the internet and becoming addicted as well as how much they are paying in taxes to the state.
