MASON CITY, Iowa- Authorities say they have received multiple complaints of folks violating the 25 mile an hour speed limit in the school zone area on 4th Street Southeast.
On Friday, law enforcement patrolled the area, something they say they will be doing a couple of times during the month.
“I’m going to be radio’ed information about cars that are speeding and then I’ll stop those cars,” says Officer Jeremy Ryal, the Crime Prevention Coordinator for the Mason City Police Department. “That will influence that one person that we stop and then hopefully others will see the traffic stop occurring and will remind them that they need to slow down as well”
Officer Ryal says the next time they will be staking out the road will be after the Thanksgiving holiday.
