ALBERT LEA, Minn.- A new library is up and running at Brookside Education Center, thanks to a grant.
The school is kicking off their new reading oasis library after receiving a $10,000 grant from the Southern MN Initiative Foundation in the spring.
Now students will have the opportunity to read at the library during the school day.
“It’s very exciting for us that we actually have a dedicated space that’s really in the center for all of our action that goes on here at Brookside,” said Jenny Hanson, Albert Lea Area Schools. “So it’s really going to be a hub for us that will allow us to have actual library reading time for all of our classrooms.”
The library will feature books for children from birth to 3th grade.
It was set up by an Albert Lea High School senior who was working on his Eagle Scout Badge.
