Demaray is listed in fair condition at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa

MASON CITY, Iowa – One person was seriously hurt Saturday after a crash in North Iowa.

It happened around 12:28 am when a Cerro Gordo County Deputy tried to stop a pickup truck near 280th Street and Balsam Avenue in Floyd County.  The truck took off and after a minute-long pursuit, went out of control and rolled into the ditch.

The driver, 30-year-old Courtney Demaray of Dougherty, was ejected and taken to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa for treatment of serious injuries.

Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in this accident.

The Iowa State Patrol, Mason City Fire Department, Green Ambulance, Dougherty Fire Department, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and Marble Rock First Responders all assisted at the scene.
