CERRO GORDO CO., Iowa – A Rockford man was transported Monday morning after crashing his truck into a utility pole and rolling several times.
It happened around 9:40 a.m. on County Road S-56, about a half mile south of 190th St. Dale Westendorf, 65, was headed south when he lost control of the truck and entered the east ditch. The truck hit a utility poll and rolled several times, according to a news release from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
Westendorf was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa by Mercy Air Life. He is currently in critical condition, according to a Mercy nursing supervisor.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office on scene were Rockwell/Swaledale EMTs.
