CHARLES CITY, Iowa – Community members in Charles City will soon be receiving new Christmas decorations throughout town, thanks to local organizations and a well-known campaign.
This is the second year for the Give Chuck a Buck campaign to replace old holiday street decorations.
The majority of the decorations date back to the late 1970’s which is why the city, Chamber Of Commerce and the Community Revitalization Program partnered together to replace the older decorations along South Grand Avenue and Gilbert Street.
“We want people to obviously feel incredibly welcomed, we want to show people what kind of community we have here in Charles City. Charles City is a very appealing community, a very welcoming community and we think we have a lot to offer, but we want to put our best foot forward in doing that,” says Mark Wicks, Community Development Director.
Over 30 decorations are still needed to complete South Grand Avenue and Gilbert Street corridors.
