ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man who has already served time for murder now gets probation for shoplifting.
45-year-old Mario Randell Peterson of Rochester was arrested in February. Police say he stole over $500 in merchandise at Apache Mall and then fled from officers back into the mall, where he punch a store employee.
Peterson entered guilty pleas to theft and 5th degree assault and was sentenced Monday to five years of supervised probation.
Authorities say Peterson was previously convicted of murder in Illinois.
