UPDATE: The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says it has located the van involved in this incident and no further assistance is needed from the public.
“We appreciate the public’s response and assistance in this incident,” said Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer. “The calls and information provided by the public helped in identifying the girl and her family.”

GALT, Iowa – Authorities are asking for information about a very young girl found Tuesday afternoon in Wright County.
The Sheriff’s Office responded around 1:30 pm to a report of an unattended child in Galt. They arrived to find an approximately 2-year-old female with shoulder length black hair and a pony tail in the back. She has brown eyes, is about three feet tall and weighs 30 pounds.
The girl was wearing pink pajamas and no shoes and was taken to Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.
Shortly before the girl was located, a blue Honda minivan with a black rubber strip on the side was seen in the Galt area with two people inside.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has identified the girl and her mother. The girl has been placed in the custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services.
